What is your role at BVC?
I am the Children's Pastor. I plan Sunday morning activities, Children's Workshops, Parents' Night Out, and Family Events. I also oversee Little Angels Choir, AWANA, and MOPS. I am essentially responsible for whatever happens with children and their families.
 
What is the best part about your role?
Being and working with children and their families, and making Bear Valley a place they want to come to worship and learn more about God.
 
What makes you laugh?
My granddaughter - things she says and does.
 
What is your favorite scripture?
The Book of Daniel has really spoken to me and encouraged me in my work with children. Daniel must have had an extraordinary upbringing in order to be God's guy. I desire that for all of my "kids" and their families.
 
What Bible character are you looking forward to meeting in heaven?
God, I have many questions for Him!
 
 

Sylvia has been at Bear Valley since August 1978. She has a degree in nursing/missions. Sylvia has two children, Heidi and Matthew, who are both married, and one adorable granddaughter, Emilie Hope. Sylvia has worked in the children's area at Bear Valley since she joined the church in 1978. She is now full time and has the privilege of ministering to all children, babies-6th grade, and their families.
