What is your role at BVC?
Family Pastor (Lead out in Discipleship, Small groups, and anything else assigned by others)
 
What is the best part about your role?
I love teaching, preaching, and drinking coffee with folk. I would love to have been one of those old guys who had a regular table at a restaurant and his own personal coffee cup waiting on him.
 
What makes you laugh?
Life...so much of it is too funny! Plus, you should not take yourself too seriously. You end up worrying and giving yourself an ulcer and dying too young. So, laugh!
 
What is your favorite thing about living in Colorado?
I love being able to cook 'smarshmallows' on the deck in the middle of the summer while we look at the mountains. No bugs, no heat...ahhh!

What is the one thing about you that would be surprising for others to learn?
Hmmm...If I listen to music, I usually listen to country OR hip-hop (I love old school rap).
 
 
 

Chris is the Family Pastor. He coordinates the disciple-making process at Bear Valley. Chris has been actively involved in full-time ministry for the past 15 years. He loves to teach and equip people as they journey in their faith.
 
Chris' desire is to reach people for Christ where they are at and to encourage them in their walk. His passion is to see people become dynamic followers of Christ. To see them know God, His Word, and be active about seeing Him become famous as they live and breathe in the place that He has given them to do the "salt-shaker" dance.
 
Chris wholeheartedly believes that connecting to God and others is the beginning of the trail. Small groups is where you can be encouraged, challenged, and focused upon your life mission - to serve others as you serve Christ, because that is what Jesus did. Worship is the launching pad for your week of potential ministry opportunities. We are called to be a light in a world that is full of darkness (Matthew 5:16).
 
He has a beautiful wife, Becky, and the craziest daughter ever in Lauren and the mostest strongest boy ever in Landon. Chris and his family have been at Bear Valley since 2002. They came from deep in the heart of Texas. Becky is an 8th grade history teacher in Jefferson County.
 
Chris has been educated a little bit at Howard Payne University (Brownwood, TX), Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (Ft. Worth, TX.), and is currently attending Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary (San Francisco, CA).
